A mid-sized academic medical center serving the greater Birmingham, Alabama region, this health system operates more than 40 primary and specialty care clinics across the metro area. With over 200 providers delivering care to their community, the organization is deeply committed to clinical excellence and improving the patient experience.
The Challenge
Despite best efforts to streamline documentation, providers were spending excessive time correcting and editing notes generated by their legacy vendor. The solution in place was not only underperforming on accuracy, but also adding administrative burden that took time away from patient care. Leadership needed a better solution—one that would reduce (not increase) the time providers spent editing notes, improve clinical accuracy, and offer more partnership value for their investment.
The Solution
Onpoint began by conducting an in-depth discovery session to understand where documentation workflows were falling short. Through collaborative analysis and tailored workflow development, Onpoint worked alongside the client to ensure that notes curated through the Iris Platform were not only accurate, but ready for signature with minimal revision.
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Onpoint integrated seamlessly into the health system’s day-to-day operations, co-designing documentation protocols that reflected both the nuances of clinical care and the preferences of individual providers.
As of today, more than 90 providers have been onboarded—and the number continues to grow each month.
